We partner with a diverse range of suppliers within our procurement process, and believe it delivers strength and improved outcomes for our business. As part of our program, we are nurturing and growing our existing relationships with diverse businesses and are active in supplier diversity events with the WRMSDC (Western Regional Minority Supplier Diversity Council).

Our supplier diversity program is led by our Global Strategic Sourcing group. They are on the front lines of identifying new suppliers, training internal staff on the program, and furthering our continued efforts in the area.

Strategies: Expanding Supplier Diversity

Our Global Strategic Sourcing group has identified several strategies for further expanding the scope of supplier diversity at BioMarin:

• Expanding outreach with small and diverse businesses through membership and participation in two additional organizations dedicated to the success, growth, and certification of these companies
• Training all Global Strategic Sourcing group members on the importance of supplier diversity, including processes, tools, and other resources available to support the inclusion of small and diverse businesses in RFP processes
• Networking with peers in the biopharmaceutical industry to identify suppliers aligned with our needs and supplier diversity goals
