JOB DESCRIPTION  

The Finance Manager of FP&A Systems & Analytics will report to the Associate Director of FP&A Systems & Analytics. And serve a critical role within the team to support our reporting systems and processes. This role will influence the design of future-state FP&A processes and reporting. And ensure that current and new requirements are captured and implemented across all Financial Reporting platforms. The Manager will also liaise with IT to support existing FP&A applications and drive the continuity of financial planning processes. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Current FP&A System & Process Support: Serve as a liaison between finance and IT in supporting and maintaining existing planning and reporting applications. Develop a deep understanding of end-to-end data flow, master data hierarchies, and linkages to multiple applications. Prepare the planning application in advance of each planning cycle. Assist IT with system troubleshooting, reconciliations, master data change requests, security, and training. Work with ERP, FP&A and IT to drive continuity of planning processes.

FP&A Principles in Workstreams: Partner with the AD of FP&A in designing future-state FP&A requirements, including master data, management reporting, standard costing, program allocations, and general process flows. Ensure both current and future-state requirements needed for the ongoing FP&A transformation efforts are supported via the ERP solution across all workstreams. Manage cross-functional stakeholders, challenge status-quo and influence multiple levels within the organization.   Ensure both current and future-state requirements needed for the ongoing FP&A transformation efforts are supported via the ERP solution across all workstreams, which will include SAP UAT, migrating data from SAP to legacy systems, upholding leadership expectation of management reporting – including both system solutions and manual aggregation of data, Specifically within our Hyperion management reporting environment. 

General Program Strategy, Workshops, and External Engagement: Provide input into the design and ‘new ways of thinking’ required to ready BioMarin for the future – both within finance and across the enterprise. A vital element of the role will be to step "outside" of the program’s day-to-day management to provide essential thought partnership to the broader FP&A team on how to evolve FP&A and streamline efforts.   A vital element of the role will be to step "outside" of the program’s day-to-day management to provide essential thought partnership to the ERP leader on how the program can evolve BioMarin to enable our future.  

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Anaplan Revenue Planning process
  • Support Hyperion Planning and Reporting Systems
  • Support Commercial Reporting Systems (Datamarts/Databricks/PowerBI)
  • Identify areas for efficiency improvements. Create, propose and implement efficiency improvements
  • Support the Program Allocation processes
  • Support transition to SAC planning and reporting where applicable
  • Support the Master Data Governance (MDG) and Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) processes
  • Support access and alignment to downstream systems such as HCM and Ariba
  • Integral member of our Super User team, by providing training, supporting and best practices to our Super User team
  • Calendaring and Project Planning for System readiness for Forecast, Budget and Long Range Planning
  • Change Management and Governance (DR) processes for Revenue and P&L Planning
  • IT Liaison
  • Manage and streamline Documentation and Training across the FP&A Organization

CRITICAL ATTRIBUTES 

The Mangers of FP&A Systems & Analytics is a challenging role that requires a dynamic set of business and leadership skills, including the following: 

5+ years of experience corporate and/or global finance environments (preferably in-house corporate FP&A)

  • Deep understanding of financial planning processes and their importance
  • In-depth experience with financial planning applications, including implementing, using, and enhancing (Oracle, Hyperion, Anaplan, and SAP strongly preferred)
  • Solid understanding of Relational Database Theory and proven financial modeling experience
  • Strong organizational and people skills and an ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present and communicate effectively at all levels of the org
  • Strong analytical skills, close attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving ability
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving, and collaboration in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to problems and the ability to effectively influence business partners and decisions to the benefit of the Company

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business
  • Advanced Degree, CPA, or MBA preferred

The salary range for this position is: $108,000 to $148,500. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
