Associate Director, Marketing – North East and Central Europe
Dublin Hybrid role (2 days per week in office)
SUMMARY
The Associate Director, Marketing NECE is responsible for leading the development and execution of marketing strategies across the North East & Central Europe (NECE) sub-region. This role drives the creation of integrated sub-regional brand plans in close collaboration with country teams, ensuring strong alignment with EUCAN and Global Marketing strategies.
The role requires close cross-functional partnership with Medical, Market Access, and Sales to ensure effective execution of regional priorities and to maximize business impact across diverse and complex markets.
The geographical scope includes Nordics, Austria, Switzerland, Israel, Eastern European Countries (EEC), and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The position reports to the Head of Commercial NECE.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development of sub-regional brand strategies and integrated business plans in alignment with global and EUCAN priorities
- Support priority markets with tailored strategic guidance to accelerate growth and address market-specific challenges
- Shape the market environment, including standard of care evolution and disease awareness
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Medical, Market Access, and Sales to ensure aligned and impactful execution
- Collaborate with Access teams to support optimal reimbursement strategies and submissions across NECE
- Engage effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives
Market Insight & Analytics
- Lead market research initiatives and generate actionable insights to inform strategy
- Drive performance tracking through KPIs, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making
- Implement ROI-based prioritization tools to optimize resource allocation
External Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders
- Support advocacy development and strengthen stakeholder engagement across markets
Execution Excellence
- Ensure effective local implementation of marketing plans across countries
- Lead multichannel engagement strategies, including digital, events, congresses, and promotional materials
- Manage multiple products and franchises with differentiated strategic approaches
Financial & Operational Management
- Contribute to P&L oversight and ensure alignment with financial targets
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring optimal investment of resources
- Work closely with Finance and Commercial leadership to track performance and adjust plans as needed
Leadership & Governance
- Actively contribute to regional and global strategic discussions and forums
- Lead complex projects across multiple markets with strong project management discipline
- Foster collaboration in a multicultural, geographically dispersed environment
SCOPE
- Lead marketing strategy and execution across the NECE region
- Ensure optimal deployment of promotional resources within agreed budgets
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities across the promotional mix
- Maintain accurate financial tracking and reporting (monthly/quarterly) in partnership with Finance
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in rare diseases
- Proven experience in brand management and strategic marketing in a multinational environment
- Strong understanding of market access dynamics and healthcare systems across Europe
